BRITISH PAGEANT

When we were called, we had no idea that we would get a chance to be in the pageant.  It was fun to be in such a well organized production with such talented performers.  Most of the core cast in this pageant are from the United Kingdom.  We like this pageant because it relates the history of what many of our own ancestors experienced.  One of the amazing things we learned was that just when the saints were getting reestablished in Nauvoo in 1839, Joseph Smith was directed by the Lord to send all 12 apostles to the British Isles to preach the gospel.  The result of this bold action resulted in  doubling the size of the church as many people had been prepared by the Lord to accept the gospel and immigrate to the United states. This added great strength to the church when it was needed to complete the temple and build Nauvoo.

Each night when we go to the British Pageant ( Wednesdays and Fridays), we sit on either side and on cue the missionaries from the Nauvoo Temple, the sites, the young performers, and the full time missionaries all flood up onto the stage to emphasize the important role the missionaries played in building up the Kingdom of God.

The following are pictures from the pageant with a video at the end.
