Baby Oxen, part two

The baby oxen learn how to pull a wagon
About the time we were preparing to leave Nauvoo, the baby oxen had tripled in weight and were being prepared to start the next phase of their training.  They were getting strong enough that it was hard for the handler to hold them back.  Adjustable yokes were needed to help manage them. It is important for them to get used to the feel of having it on and learn how to work together, even from a young age.  A small wagon was made by the facilities management missionaries for the oxen to have something to pull. The Droste's grandchildren take advantage of the training for a fun ride.

The yokes teach them to tolerate having a yoke on from the beginning.  They are made adjustable allowing for expansion as they grow.
